In a groundbreaking development for the solar energy industry, App Orchid, a leader in making data actionable with AI, and Fracsun, an innovator in solar performance monitoring technology, have announced the launch of CLEO AI, an advanced AI-powered soiling loss modeling tool. This collaboration marks a significant milestone, providing an innovative solution for accurately predicting and mitigating soiling losses in solar installations.

CLEO AI creates a predictive machine learning model using the private data of Fracsun and the AI platform of App Orchid. This model considers various factors impacting soiling loss, such as fine particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10) concentrations, nitrate and sulfate levels, seasonal trends, and the effects of wind and precipitation The end product is an advanced tool that helps with accurate forecasting of operating and maintenance costs by letting users create a prediction model for a Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) that is unique to their area.

“Using the large database that we have built to generate typical soiling loss data for a given site was the goal, App Orchid was crucial in helping us build the tool using their expertise in AI decision engines,” said Catlin Mattheis, CEO of Fracsun. “They were able to quickly build out this model which will help refine every production model run and take a lot of risks out of the project development pipeline.”

To celebrate this launch, Fracsun is offering the first 5 CLEO AI simulations free for clients who sign up as “early adopters.” Users can conduct up to 5 simulations to analyze the effects of soiling on their solar energy systems by signing up at Fracsun CLEO Early Access.

The partnership between App Orchid and Fracsun signifies a major step forward in integrating AI technology within the renewable energy sector. Both companies are dedicated to driving innovation and sustainability. CLEO AI embodies their shared vision of a cleaner, more efficient energy future.

“We are thrilled to partner with Fracsun to bring CLEO AI to the market. Our combined expertise in AI and solar technology will provide a significant way to drive accurate, cost-efficient planning solutions for the industry, helping to maximize solar energy production and drive the transition to sustainable energy,” said Shyam Chodapunedi, COO of App Orchid.

With CLEO AI, App Orchid and Fracsun are poised to revolutionize the solar energy sector, offering a powerful tool to optimize solar energy production and advance the global transition to sustainable energy.
