Pluralsight, a leader in technology workforce development, has launched Iris, an AI assistant designed to enhance learner engagement. Iris, which is currently available in Pluralsight Skills, assists users in finding pertinent information that is suited to their queries, learning objectives, and aspirations. This personalized learning experience aims to improve training outcomes and accelerate the real-world application of new technical skills.

The rapid pace of technological change makes it challenging to keep skills up to date. Pluralsight’s 2024 Tech Skills Report revealed that 96% of technologists feel skill gaps have increased their workload. This highlights the urgent need for organizations to address these gaps without overwhelming their workforce.

“Technology is moving at a breakneck pace, making it challenging for individuals to keep skills up-to-date or know where to begin when they want to learn something new,” said Chris McClellen, Chief Product Officer at Pluralsight. “Thanks to generative AI, we can now provide learners with an intelligent, chat-based assistant that will guide them along their personalized learning journey and accelerate the path to technical proficiency.”

Iris acts as a personal guide, recommending paths and training courses to meet unique learning needs. It helps users navigate Pluralsight’s extensive library of technology courses, hands-on labs, and skill assessments.

“When integrated effectively, AI can improve and accelerate IT learning initiatives,” said IDC research director Gina Smith, Ph.D. “With the pace of technology moving faster than ever before, the next wave of technology talent must leverage AI, including AI assistants, to accelerate and personalize the upskilling process, making them smarter, faster.”

Iris also benefits team leaders by curating tailored learning paths aligned with organizational goals. It serves as a content curator, helping teams develop talent at scale, achieve business objectives, and close skills gaps.
