Most management consulting firms chase Fortune 500 contracts. Dr. Priscilla “Dr. P” Kucer chose a different battlefield—the scrappy, passionate, often overlooked micro and small business owners who are the quiet engines of innovation but rarely get the strategic support they deserve.

While corporate giants have entire departments dedicated to organizational development and leadership training, the entrepreneurs building businesses from the ground up are often left to figure it out alone. They’re brilliant at their craft but struggle with the “how” of scaling, drowning in operational chaos, burning out from doing everything themselves or with an overloaded small team, and watching their vision crumble under the weight of disorganized execution. Dr. P saw this gap not as a market inefficiency, but as a mission. As an organizational psychologist and management consultant, she recognized that these founders didn’t lack intelligence or drive; they lacked structure, leadership support, and someone who understood that sustainable growth is about building resilient enterprises that don’t break their owners in the process.

That realization led her to found Priscilla Kucer Consulting Solutions (PKCS) LLC®, where she developed the OPLE System™—a comprehensive framework that transforms purpose into performance without burnout. Her philosophy, SoAR!® (Solutions+Actions=Results!®), cuts through the paralysis of overthinking and gets entrepreneurs moving with clarity and confidence. Dr. P doesn’t just consult; she rewires how micro and small business owners think about leadership, operations, and their own capacity to lead. She’s turning passion projects into profitable legacies, one strategic conversation at a time.

But her work extends beyond the boardroom. As State President—Florida for the Association of Business Women in Commerce & Industry (ABWCI) and a member of the Women’s Business Council—Southwest, Dr. P is actively dismantling barriers for women entrepreneurs. She’s also stepping into her role as an Advisor for the Women’s Enterprise Bank (WEB) Fund, ensuring that access to capital—one of the most persistent hurdles for women-owned businesses—becomes less of a gatekeeping mechanism and more of a launchpad.

Dr. P’s journey is a masterclass in purpose-driven leadership. She’s proof that you don’t need to be big to make a big impact—you just need the right systems, the courage to trust others, and the clarity to know that true leadership isn’t about doing it all yourself.

Inspired by her commitment to turning passion into lasting legacy, we sat down with Dr. P to unpack her journey, her frameworks, and her vision for the future of purpose-driven leadership.

Below are the excerpts from the interview:

Dr. P, you’ve built an identity as a CEO, consultant, educator, and thought leader. What defining moment in your career made you realize your purpose was to help micro-business owners scale and step into leadership?

It’s a powerful question, and my answer is not a single moment but a culmination of some of my experiences. Early in my career, I saw a recurring pattern: brilliant, passionate founders of micro and small businesses struggling to translate their vision into sustainable success. I realized that they were not struggling because they lacked vision or intelligence—but because they were trying to scale without structure, leadership support, or psychological safety. Micro and small businesses are the heart of our economies, yet often lack access to the strategic tools and support typically reserved for larger corporations. As an organizational psychologist and management consultant, I repeatedly saw founders generating revenue while personally burning out. They were operating in the business instead of leading through it. That disconnect crystallized my purpose: to help micro- and small business owners scale strategically while stepping fully into leadership.

The defining realization came when I was working with a micro business owner within the wellness industry who had an incredible product but was overwhelmed by operational chaos and on the verge of giving up. Helping them implement simple changes to improve operational efficiency and develop a clear plan for strategic growth was transformative. Seeing their confidence soar and their business begin to thrive solidified my purpose. It became clear that my mission was to bridge this gap. I founded PKCS LLC® to provide accessible management consulting and leadership enhancement for these vital entrepreneurs. I want to help micro and small business owners grow their businesses without losing themselves in the process. My goal is to empower them to build resilient enterprises and achieve purpose-driven success, turning their passion into a lasting legacy. It’s about giving the backbone of our economy the support they need to not just survive, but to truly scale and lead.

Why do you believe micro-businesses are the quiet engines of innovation? What makes them so important to the future of economic development?

I believe micro and small businesses are the quiet engines of innovation because they operate from a place of necessity and passion. They solve real problems quickly, creatively, and close to the customer. Unlike large corporations that can be slowed by bureaucracy, micro and small business owners are on the ground, directly connected to their communities and customers. This proximity allows them to spot unmet needs and pivot quickly to create solutions. Their agility and adaptability are their superpowers. They can experiment, fail, and adapt without the high stakes and complex processes that stifle creativity in larger organizations. Across the 25 GICS industries, I see micro and small business owners experimenting with new revenue growth strategies, hybrid profit models, and community-centered solutions long before trends appear in boardrooms. This is where true, grassroots innovation is born—not just in technology, but in reimagining how we create value for people and the planet.

Their importance to future economic development cannot be overstated. When we empower these businesses, we are investing in sustainable business growth from the bottom up. Micro and small businesses create employment, stabilize communities, fuel inclusive growth, and introduce diverse ideas into the market. When supported with the right operational efficiency, profitability analysis, and leadership development, micro and small businesses become anchors of sustainable economic ecosystems. At PKCS LLC®, we intentionally design management consulting and business coaching services to amplify this impact. By supporting the purpose-driven success of micro and small businesses, we are not just building individual companies; we are strengthening the entire economic ecosystem for a more inclusive and dynamic future. Micro and small businesses are proof that you do not need to be big to make a big impact. I believe that when micro- and small businesses thrive, economies become more resilient and human-centered.

If you had to explain the OPLE System to someone hearing it for the first time, how would you describe it in a way that captures its impact and intention?

That’s a great question, because the OPLE System™ is truly the heart of what we do at PKCS LLC®. The OPLE System™ is how we turn purpose into performance—without burnout. If you’re hearing about it for the first time, think of it as a comprehensive blueprint for building a resilient and thriving business from the inside out. OPLE stands for Organizational development, Personal skills, Leadership, and Education. It’s a dynamic framework designed to align your entire operation—your people, your processes, and your purpose. I designed the OPLE System™️ specifically for micro and small businesses to scale strategically while strengthening leadership capacity and operational efficiency.

The intention behind the OPLE System is to move beyond temporary fixes and create lasting, sustainable business growth. Instead of chasing disconnected tactics, OPLE System methodologies align systems, mindset, leadership behavior, and learning into one integrated growth engine. The OPLE System flywheel involves a micro or small business moving through a customized program that looks at their Organizational development to improve their operational efficiency and ensure their company’s structure supports their goals. With Personal skills we focus on the company’s team members, fostering better communication and team dynamics. The Leadership component is about leadership enhancement at every level, empowering everyone to contribute to a shared vision. Finally, Education builds a culture of continuous learning, making your business adaptable and innovative. The result is business optimization that actually sticks—because people, processes, and purpose move together.

Ultimately, the OPLE System’s impact is in transforming your business into a cohesive, purpose-driven success story. It’s not just about what you do, but how you do it. By strengthening your internal capacity, you create an organization that is prepared for strategic growth and built to last. It’s the framework that turns your vision into measurable results to build resilient enterprises, not fragile success.

Please tell us more about SoAR!®. Can you share a case where this philosophy helped a business owner break through stagnation or self-doubt?

Of course. SoAR!® stands for Solutions+Actions=Results!®, and it’s more than our tagline—it’s the core philosophy behind our approach to all our services. It’s about moving beyond just planning and into decisive action to achieve tangible outcomes. This philosophy is designed to help entrepreneurs and business owners break free from the paralysis of overthinking and start building momentum toward their goals. It emphasizes that with the right solutions and committed action, positive results are inevitable.

I’m reminded of a music producer who joined our SoAR! With Coaching Program. He was incredibly talented and passionate about nurturing local artists but felt completely stuck. His business wasn’t growing, and he was filled with self-doubt, questioning if he could truly make a living from his passion.

Through our coaching, we helped him define a clear mission that aligned his personal purpose with his business strategy. We provided solutions for structuring his services and a clear action plan for outreach. This process wasn’t just about business optimization; it was about leadership enhancement. He rediscovered his confidence and purpose. Today, he’s a recognized leader in his community, and he’s achieving the purpose-driven success he once doubted was possible. That is the power of SoAR!® in action—it transforms stagnation into sustainable business growth.

Your eBook, “4 Must Haves to Grow Your Business,” lays out foundational principles for success. Which of the four do entrepreneurs struggle with most — and can you share a real-life case where applying it changed a business’s trajectory?

That’s an important question, as understanding these common hurdles is the first step to overcoming them. While all four principles in the “4 Must-Haves to Grow Your Business” are critical, I find that entrepreneurs most often struggle with translating their vision into a concrete strategic plan—specifically, the ‘when’ and the ‘how’ of execution. Many founders have a brilliant idea for their business, but get stuck when it comes to business optimization and creating actionable revenue growth strategies. They know where they want to go, but the path forward seems overwhelming and unclear. Simply put, they lack clarity on when to act and how to sequence growth decisions.

I recall working with a client in the wellness industry. She had a deep passion for helping people, but her business had hit a plateau. She was missing her ideal customers and her recruitment efforts weren’t bringing in the right people, which are common issues for micro and small businesses. We focused on applying the principles from the eBook within the OPLE System methodologies to build a robust strategic growth plan. We defined a clear roadmap, broke down her goals into manageable steps, and aligned her daily actions with her long-term vision.

The transformation of her business was remarkable. By implementing a clear strategy, she was able to refine her services, attract her ideal clientele, and build a team that shared her values. This strategic clarity not only boosted her revenue but also reignited her passion, leading to true, purpose-driven success. It’s a powerful example of how having a clear plan—one of the core must-haves—can completely change a business’s trajectory from stagnation to sustainable growth.

Much of your work blends psychological insight with business strategy. In your experience, what is the mindset block that holds small business owners back the most?

I believe that mindset is often the invisible barrier to growth. In my experience blending psychology with business strategy, the single most pervasive mindset block is the belief that “no one can do this as well as I can.” It involves the business owners’ fear of letting go. This manifests in several ways: the reluctance to delegate, the hesitation to invest in their own leadership enhancement, and the fear of moving away from the hands-on tasks that started the business. For the business, the mindset block slows growth and weakens team dynamics. Founders are visionaries, but they often become bottlenecks because their identity is so intertwined with doing everything themselves.

This mindset prevents true business optimization. To scale, you must transition from being the primary doer to being the strategic leader. It requires investing in systems, trusting your team, and empowering others to contribute to the vision. Overcoming this block is fundamental to achieving sustainable business growth. It’s about shifting your perspective to see that your greatest value is not in completing every task, but in steering the ship. When a leader makes that mental shift, they unlock not only their own potential but the collective potential of their entire organization, paving the way for authentic, purpose-driven success.

In my opinion, sustainable growth requires trust, systems, and courage to evolve.

When you think about women stepping into leadership roles or launching businesses today, what changes excite you — and what barriers still need to fall?

I find it incredibly exciting to see the remarkable surge of women stepping into leadership roles and launching their own businesses today. I think that we are witnessing a fundamental shift globally where women are not just participating in the economy, but actively reshaping it with their unique perspectives and purpose-driven success. What excites me most is their emphasis on collaborative, sustainable business growth and their natural talent for improving team dynamics. In the collaborative vein, I am a member of the Women’s Business Council – Southwest and I am the State President – Florida for Association of Business Women in Commerce & Industry (ABWCI). Women are building companies that are not only profitable but also intentional about their impact on society. This wave of women in leadership is redefining what it means to be successful in business.

However, we must also acknowledge the significant barriers that persist. Access to capital continues to be a major hurdle and systemic biases can still make it challenging to navigate certain industries. Furthermore, for women business owners and women founders is the societal expectation to balance professional ambitions with family responsibilities, which often falls disproportionately on women.

I am committed to dismantling these barriers. To help break the access to capital barrier, I will be serving as an Advisor for the Women’s Enterprise Bank (WEB) Fund. I am thrilled to be a part of the WEB and I am looking forward to the many woman-owned businesses that we will be helping. Through targeted business coaching and leadership enhancement programs, PKCS and the WEB will provide women with the tools and strategies they need to thrive. We focus on building resilient enterprises that are structured for growth, ensuring every woman with a powerful vision has the opportunity to access needed funding to turn their vision into a lasting legacy. The goal is to create a future where the path to leadership is equally accessible to all.

Progress is real—but equity requires continued action.

If there’s one message you hope your journey sends to future entrepreneurs — especially young girls who don’t fit the “traditional mold” — what would it be?

My message would be this: Your unique perspective is your greatest asset. Don’t ever let anyone convince you that your differences are weaknesses. Your difference is your advantage. The world of business needs your voice, your ideas, and your distinct way of solving problems. The path to purpose-driven success is not about conforming; it’s about having the courage to build something that is a true reflection of your values and vision.

I would tell future entrepreneurs to embrace the journey of leadership development on your own terms. You do not need permission to lead. Your background, your experiences, and even your doubts are all part of the story that will shape you into a powerful leader. You need clarity, confidence, and the right systems. Focus on building a resilient enterprise that is authentic to you. Success isn’t about fitting into a pre-existing box; it’s about building your own. My hope is that future entrepreneurs see that it is possible to create sustainable business growth by being exactly who you are. Your path may not look like anyone else’s, and that is precisely why it will lead to extraordinary impact. Purpose-driven success is built intentionally—one decision at a time.

When you imagine PKCS 10 years from now, what impact do you want the firm to be known for? And what legacy do you hope to leave behind as a CEO, educator, and advocate?

Ten years from now, I see PKCS as a global beacon for micro and small businesses benefiting from the combination of psychology, strategy, and execution. I want the firm to be known for fundamentally changing how these businesses are supported, making top-tier management consulting and leadership enhancement accessible to ambitious entrepreneurs with a vision, regardless of their size or location. The impact I envision is a thriving global network of resilient enterprises, all built on the foundation of purpose-driven success. I want PKCS LLC to be synonymous with turning passion into profitable, sustainable business growth.

As for my personal legacy, I hope to be remembered as a dedicated advocate who helped level the playing field. As a CEO, I want to leave behind a firm that continues to innovate and serve with integrity. As an educator, my goal is to have empowered a generation of leaders to build businesses that not only create economic value but also contribute positively to society, aligning with goals like the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Ultimately, I hope my legacy is seen in the countless entrepreneurs who were able to build their dreams into lasting, impactful organizations because they had a strategic partner who believed in them and gave them the tools to succeed.
